Juventus really could use Luiz and Milik
It’s not a secret that the injury bug has bitten Juventus pretty hard so far this season. As of right now we do have a better idea on when midfielder Douglas Luiz and striker Arkadiusz Milik are expected to return to the pitch.
Reports from Il Bianconero are indicating that Luiz should be fit for the Bianconeri’s next Champions League match against Aston Villa, next Wednesday, November 27th. Their hope was that he would be good to go for this coming weekend’s Serie A match against AC MIlan, but that’s unlikely.
Luiz has unfortunately had a hard time settling in after making the move from Aston Villa to The Old Lady this past summer. Hopefully he can get on track and help Juve continue their unbeaten streak within Serie A.
When it comes to Milik, the news isn’t as positive with Il Bianconero reporting that he won’t be back until late December of even possibly not until January of 2025. This is really bad due to the fact that Dusan Vlahovic was forced to sub himself out of a match between Serbia and Denmark this week. The good news is that Juventus have stated that he didn’t suffer an injury, but that doesn’t mean he won’t miss this weekend’s match against Milan or other matches within the next couple of weeks.
With Vlahovic likely to miss some time, my guess is that Juve could have Timothy Weah or Kenan Yildiz start up top. Weah is the more likely option since he played as a nine during his time with Lille.
The injuries to Vlahovic and Milik have made it even more obvious that Juventus need to sign a striker during the winter transfer window.
