It might be time for Vlahovic to go
When Juventus purchased Dusan Vlahovic in 2022 from Fiorentina, the expectation was that he would come in and become a world class striker for the Bianconeri for next 10-plus years. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened and they may have to move on from him at some point in the near future.
Gianluca DiMarzio is reporting that Juve would like to renegotiate Vlahovic’s contract with him currently making 12 million euros net and if they’re unable to do so they would try to sell him during next summer’s transfer window.
The problem with trying to sell Vlahovic is that unless he scores a bunch of goals this season it will be hard to move him with his market value around 70 million euros. The Bianconeri would likely have to accept a lot less then his value, which they may not be willing to do.
As you can see below, Vlahovic has only scored over 20 or more goals during a season twice and both times was during his time with Fiorentina. He got close last season with 18 goals and he has nine so far this season but a good portion of them have come from penalty kicks.
I think Vlahovic could still end up being a world class striker, but the tactics that Max Allegri and now Thiago Motta have implemented may not fit him as a player. It might be time for Juventus to cut their losses at the end of this season.
Comment below and tell is whether you think Juventus should move on from Vlahovic next summer?
