Juventus suddenly need a lot of help on defense
With center-back Gleison Bremer already out for the rest of the season and Juan Cabal seemingly going down with an ACL injury on Tuesday, Juventus find themselves in a position where they will need to target multiple defenders during the winter transfer window.
Juve have already been linked with Tottenham center-back Radu DrăguÈ™in and now some other names have surfaced with reports out of Italy that they’re interested in Manchester United center-back Victor Lindelof as well as Feyenoord’s David Hancko, via Football Italia.
Another option for the Bianconeri is PSG central defender Milan Skriniar, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. But, they would have to work out a loan move with his salary being too high for Juve.
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has made it clear they are in fact looking for center-back help.
“At the moment we are looking around, the January market is very particular. We are evaluating different situations, We are waiting for the right moment. We have not yet sunk in with anyone in particular. We are looking for a player who is available and ready to put himself on the line to be part of a team like Juventus.”
If The Old Lady are going to add a new defender it won’t be via free agency, according to Nico Schira because they’re already working on adding a center-back via the upcoming transfer window. So you can rule out the possibility of Sergio Ramos coming on board.
Another name that is now being linked to Juventus is Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, but only as a loan option, according to Giovanni Albanese.
Kiwior joined Arsenal in January 2023 from Spezia , so he already has experience in Serie A. Known for his versatility and composure, Kiwior quickly integrated into Mikel Arteta’s system, offering depth and competition in Arsenal’s defense. Capable of playing as a center-back or left-back, his ability to progress the ball and read the game has been vital in Arsenal’s build-up play. The problem right now though is that he’s not getting the time on the field that he would like with 96 minutes of playing time this season so far.
As of right now, the final name that has come up as an option for the Bianconeri is Lens center-back Kevin Danso, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
Danso is an Austrian international footballer known for his commanding presence as a central defender. He began his professional career with FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga before moving to RC Lens in Ligue 1. At Lens, he has become a key figure, showcasing exceptional defensive skills, aerial dominance, and composure on the ball.
Danso’s versatility allows him to play in multiple defensive roles, making him a valuable asset for both club and country. With a strong work ethic and leadership qualities, he continues to rise as one of Europe’s promising defenders.
