Juventus have just secured the signing of young attacker Mbaye Diagne from the Italian fourth division side, ASD Bra. Born in 1991, Diagne is a Senegalese striker that attracted the attention of several clubs thanks to his goal scoring ability. Juventus surprisingly entered the race for the Senegalese striker and secured his services. At 22 years of age, the same age of Moreno Torricelli he might well repeat the feat of the former Italy international, as Torricelli also joined Juventus from a fourth division side back in 1992. He went on to spending six seasons at Juventus before continuing his professional career at Fiorentina, Espanyol and Arezzo.
Diagne will initially be loaned out to a professional side, most likely a Serie B side, with Crotone being favourites. Should he fulfill expectations he may well be given an opportunity to show his skills at Juventus the following season. We wish Diagne all the best both in his personal and professional life and hope to see him wearing a Juventus shirt in the coming years.
Do you think that Diagne has what it takes to repeat the fairy tale story of Moreno Torricelli?
