Juve need to free up some extra cash
With center-backs Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal both out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season with ACL injuries, Juventus desperately need to add one or two defenders during the upcoming winter transfer window. One problem that they’re facing is the fact that they’ll need to free up some money in order to do so. And the best way to do that will be to offload some players.
La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that The Old Lady could end up selling both Danilo and 20 year-old winger Samuel Mbangula.
The main suspects to leave the Lady during the season are Danilo and Samuel Mbangula, the captain now on the fringes of the new project, and one of the emerging youngsters, launched by Thiago Motta in Serie A in the first championship, where in addition to playing as a starter he also scored. They could be the ones to finance the grafts of Milan Skriniar and David Hancko, the two profiles that most intrigue Madama among the many names targeted by the Juventus transfer man in this period.Â
It really is time for Danilo to go. He’s been more a liability for Juve this season than someone who’s helped them remain undefeated through the first few months of the season.
Mbangula on the other hand has been solid with one goal and two assists in seven total matches. He’s started four matches and has played a total of 320 minutes with a FotMob rating of 6.98. He came up through Juve’s youth system and played for their Next Gen squad last season. He’s only valued around 8 million euros right now with Danilo’s price likely around 7 million euros.
Aside from selling players, Juve will have some extra money with Paul Pogba now off the books. He accounted for a total of 30 million euros due to the fact that he was making 10 million euros a year.
