Juventus need Sergio Ramos
We’re now a few months into the 2024-25 football season and Juventus are finding themselves in a tough spot when it comes to depth at the defensive position.
First Bremer went down for the season with a torn ACL and now Juan Cabal may have also suffered a torn ACL. The problem is that Juve already know they have to go out and get a defender when the winter transfer windows opens in about six weeks, but they may need to sign a free agent now.
One player that’s without a team is former Real Madrid great Sergio Ramos. Before you go ahead and say I’m crazy, the fact of the matter is that he played pretty well for Sevilla last season. He played all 28 La Liga matches and had a FotMob rating of 7.11.
Ramos also helped out Sevilla by scoring a total of seven goals across all competitions. Now the downside is that he’s 38 years-old.
At the end of the day, Ramos will go down as one of football’s most iconic defenders and is celebrated for his remarkable career and unparalleled contributions to the sport. He started his professional career with Sevilla before making a high-profile move to Real Madrid in 2005. His 16-year tenure at Real Madrid solidified his status as a football legend, where he won five La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League trophies, and numerous other accolades.
Ramos is known for his leadership, resilience, and versatility, Ramos excelled as both a central defender and a right-back. His aerial prowess, tenacity, and knack for scoring crucial goals—most memorably, the last-minute equalizer in the 2014 Champions League final—cemented his reputation as a clutch performer. His leadership alone is something that would definitely help Juventus.
In 2021, Ramos signed with Paris Saint-Germain after his time with Real Madrid was up. He continued to showcase his passion and skill for the game and still made a huge impact on the field.
