Juventus targeting Joshua Zirkzee for January window

Juventus need to add another striker

Striker Joshua Zirkzee had a breakout season for Bologna during the 2023-24 Serie A season prior to making a €42.50 million move to Manchester United over the summer after scoring 12 goals in 37 matches for former Bologna manager Thiago Motta, who is now in charge of Juventus.

Since moving to United, Zirkzee has struggled to say the least with only one goal and two assists in 15 matches so far this season. It might be a good idea for him to head back to Italy and play for a familiar face like Motta, who could use another striker at Juve.

Dusan Vlahovic has been solid this season for Juventus with six goals in 11 Serie A matches. He also have three goals in four Champions League matches. Right now there’s no one else to pick up the slack when he needs a rest.

The problem has been that Juve don’t have much depth behind Vlahovic with Arkadiusz Milik out for another week or so due to a meniscus injury. Even when he gets back, he’s simply unreliable. Bringing in Zirkzee on loan during the January transfer window would make sense.

The good news is that Tuttosport via IlBianconero, is reporting that The Old Lady would be interested in signing Zirkzee on loan this winter.

As reported today by Tuttosport, they would only think about it on loan, the player’s salary is around 5 million per season. Furthermore, his price tag would be very high, thanks to the 40 million paid in the summer. For his part, Zirkzee would very much like a return to Italy.

This would be a great move for Manchester United who need Zirkzee to get his confidence back. It would of course be great for Juve who need another striker and it’s almost guaranteed that he will play well under Motta with how familiar they are with one another.

Comment below and tell us if you think Juventus should bring in Zirkzee on loan this winter.
